Job Description

A Financial Controller is a key managerial role within an organization, tasked with overseeing the financial operations and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting. The position is often found in mid-sized to large companies and requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership. The Financial Controller is responsible for maintaining financial health by creating sound strategies for accounting, overseeing the budget processes, and developing financial reports and forecasts. Working closely with other departments, the Financial Controller helps uphold the company's fiscal policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with financial regulations.


Responsibilities

  • Manage the preparation and presentation of monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Oversee all financial operations and direct corporate financial planning and structure.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, auditing, and tax submissions.
  • Develop and monitor internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the finance team to improve their effectiveness.
  • Prepare and oversee the company's annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Collaborate with senior management to provide advice on financial strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Analyze financial data to identify risks and opportunities for the business.
  • Enhance financial processes by implementing new technologies and systems.
  • Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions.
  • Report to the Chief Financial Officer on financial performance and trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in financial management roles.
  • Proven experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience with financial analysis tools.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop finance teams.
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail in financial matters.
