Job Description

The Facilities Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring that all facility operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and functioning of the physical aspects of a facility. The Facilities Supervisor collaborates with different departments to ensure that the work environment is safe, well-maintained, and conducive to productivity. This role requires a proactive approach to facilities management, including regular inspections and the development of maintenance plans. The Facilities Supervisor must possess strong leadership skills to manage a team of facility staff and interface with contractors or vendors. They should also be adept at handling emergencies and addressing any issues that may arise with the building infrastructure. Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks are crucial in ensuring the operational effectiveness of the facilities.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and maintenance activities of the facility site.
  • Implement and monitor preventive maintenance schedules to avoid disruptions.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Develop contingency plans to address emergency situations swiftly and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for facility repair and upgrade projects.
  • Manage the facilities budget to optimize operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead, train, and evaluate the performance of the facilities team members.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Maintain records and reports on facility operations, maintenance, and safety activities.
  • Respond to facility-related issues and resolve them promptly and effectively.
  • Facilitate improvement projects to enhance the functionality and appearance of the facility.
  • Communicate with department heads to assess and prioritize facility needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a facilities supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of facilities maintenance processes and safety regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and reduce operational costs effectively.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in facilities management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
