Job Description

The Facilities Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring that workplaces are both efficient and safe. This individual is responsible for overseeing the physical, environmental, and security operations of an organization's facilities. Working closely with other departments, the Facilities Manager ensures that the needs of the employees and the organization are met. This involves managing budgets, coordinating renovation projects, and optimizing the use of space and facilities. Furthermore, the Facilities Manager is charged with ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as maintaining all building systems. With excellent leadership skills, the Facilities Manager will drive efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability in all facilities-related tasks.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of all building systems and infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage budgets and financial forecasting for facility projects and initiatives.
  • Coordinate with service providers for repairs, maintenance, and renovations as needed.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to avoid interruption of operations.
  • Optimize space utilization to enhance the efficiency of the facility’s operation.
  • Oversee security measures to protect facilities against theft, vandalism, and other threats.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure the facility meets their operational needs.
  • Maintain records of equipment and facility management processes for regulatory compliance.
  • Develop sustainability projects to promote environmental and energy conservation.
  • Supervise a team of facility staff, providing guidance and training as necessary.
  • Ensure prompt response and resolution of facility-related issues or emergencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years experience in facilities management or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of building electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems is essential.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional leadership, team management, and communication skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and facilities management software tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
