Job Description

As an Estimator and Cost Controller, you will play a pivotal role in our project management team, ensuring that all financial aspects of our projects are accurately estimated and controlled. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare detailed cost estimates, assess financial risks, and develop cost control strategies to keep projects within budget. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary project specifications and analyze financial impacts. Your expertise will contribute to optimizing resource allocation and enhancing profitability, while maintaining high standards of efficiency and quality. This role requires an analytical mindset and strong communication skills to effectively report findings and advise management on financial decisions related to the project lifecycle.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budget forecasts for projects and proposals.
  • Collaborate with project teams to gather necessary data for accurate estimations.
  • Analyze project specifications to evaluate financial risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and implement cost control measures to ensure projects stay within budget.
  • Monitor and report on project expenditures and financial performance regularly.
  • Create financial models to forecast future project costs and potential savings.
  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors to obtain competitive quotes and pricing.
  • Maintain a comprehensive record of all cost data for ongoing reference.
  • Utilize industry-standard software and tools for precise cost estimation.
  • Advise management on any cost-related issues or discrepancies identified in projects.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for cost reduction and improved efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies in all estimations and controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, engineering, or a related field required.
  • Proven experience as an estimator or in a similar cost control role.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software and financial analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
