Job Purpose

The MEP Estimation Engineer - Mechanical is responsible for reviewing HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Fighting Drawings, Scope of works, relevant standards, other tender documents etc. and preparing Bill of Quantities for materials and resources, and preparing Mechanical cost estimation of MEP projects for Residential, Commercial, fitouts and Industrial Buildings. ESCO related Mechanical estimations are also to be prepared aligning with project requirements.

Job Responsibilities

Planning & Management:

  • Prepare project HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Fighting works scope summary based on the tender documents and plan the estimation activities based on the tender requirements. 


Coordination Activities:

  • Coordinate with Estimation Manager and Estimation Engineers for clarifying scope of works details and for preparation of precise Bill of Quantities and cost estimate.
  • Coordination with Supply chain department for obtaining offers from suppliers.
  • Bid submission preparation coordination with Estimation Manager and Document controller.
     

MEP Detailed Works:

  • Prepare accurate Bill of quantities of all HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Fighting materials, and resources requirements including labour, plant and equipment in line with the tender documents, drawings and technical specifications.
  • Prepare cost estimate accurately for all HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Fighting works and submit for review to Estimation Manager.
     

Integration with ESCO:

  • Collaborate with the ESCO team to incorporate energy-saving measures into the list of materials and resources quantity.


Human Relationships and Professional Development:

  • Improvement of knowledge in MEP estimation related activities and association with MEP Estimation Manager, other Estimation Engineers and ESCO Team.


Associated Tasks:

  • Review the tender documents, drawings, technical specifications and project requirement details of MEP Projects. Assess the unspecified requirements and add to the risks logs. 
  • Attend site visits to assess existing mechanical systems
Job Requirements

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering

 

Experience

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in estimating MEP projects HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Fighting for residential and commercial towers and industrial buildings, in the UAE or any other GCC countries
  • Experience working in MEP companies (specifically estimation department and having hands on experience in Plan swift and estimation of fit out and new residential / commercial & industrial projects)
  • Knowledge of HVAC Design, Carrier HAP etc.

 

Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • ESCO industry experience would be advantageous.
