Job Description

As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring our dental practice operates efficiently and provides the highest level of patient care. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including assisting dentists with procedures, maintaining patient records, and ensuring the examination rooms are well-equipped and prepared for each patient. Your friendly demeanor and professionalism will help put patients at ease during their visit. Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during various dental procedures and treatments.
  • Prepare examination and procedure rooms for patient appointments.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment schedules efficiently.
  • Sterilize dental instruments and ensure all equipment is sanitized properly.
  • Provide compassionate and prompt patient care and support during visits.
  • Instruct patients in oral hygiene and post-operative care procedures.
  • Manage stock and order dental supplies when needed to maintain inventory.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays) for diagnostic purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and regulations.
  • Deliver administrative support such as answering calls and managing files.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, offering comfort and information as needed.
  • Support the dental team in managing daily workplace operations smoothly.

Requirements

  • Certification or diploma from an accredited dental assistant program.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Proficiency in using dental software and understanding of office equipment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and oral hygiene practices.
  • Previous experience in a dental office or clinical environment preferred.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
