Job Description

As a Cost Controller, you will play a crucial role in our organization's financial management by monitoring and controlling project costs to enhance profitability and efficiency. You will be responsible for analyzing project budgets and ensuring that costs are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with project managers and the finance team, you will develop cost-reduction strategies, prepare cost forecasts, and prepare detailed reports on project cost deviations and corrective actions. This position requires exceptional analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders. Your work will help guide strategic decision-making and drive financial performance in our organization.


Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze project budgets, identifying and addressing cost discrepancies.
  • Develop and implement cost-control strategies to ensure financial efficiency.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports for management, highlighting cost variances.
  • Collaborate with project managers to align project activities with budgetary constraints.
  • Monitor project expenses, ensuring compliance with approved budgets and policies.
  • Conduct regular cost forecast meetings with relevant project stakeholders.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and make recommendations to management.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to negotiate cost-effective agreements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting as per organizational standards.
  • Assist in developing financial policies and procedures for cost control processes.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights for cost improvement.
  • Provide training and guidance to project teams on budget management techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is required.
  • Proven experience in cost control, budgeting, or financial analysis roles.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex financial data.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, including spreadsheets and databases.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with diverse stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
