Job Description

The Construction Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This professional works closely with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure every aspect of the project aligns with the strategic goals and specifications. The Construction Manager's responsibilities include managing work schedules, supervising site operations, and leading project teams while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and construction codes. This position requires excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of building processes and modern construction practices. A successful Construction Manager is detail-oriented, proactive, resourceful, and possesses the ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing circumstances.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
  • Coordinate and supervise construction personnel and subcontractors daily.
  • Review and implement project schedules to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Monitor compliance with building and safety regulations to ensure safety standards.
  • Manage construction budgets and monitor project costs to remain within budgets.
  • Prepare internal and external reports regarding job status and progress.
  • Negotiate contracts with subcontractors to achieve favorable terms and costs.
  • Address any site-related issues promptly to minimize project disruptions.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to optimize building processes.
  • Ensure high-quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
  • Maintain communication with stakeholders to keep them informed about project developments.
  • Develop risk management plans to mitigate potential risks and challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
  • Proven work experience in construction management, preferably with large projects.
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures, materials, and project management principles.
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards in the construction industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to manage diverse project teams effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills to interact with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with construction management software packages, such as Procore.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess project performance and technical issues.
  • Availability to travel and work on different project sites as needed.
  • Certification in Construction Management or a similar accredited program is desired.
