Job Summary
The CNC Machinist is producing machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine and responsible for maintaining part quality, safety standards & company equipment’s.
Responsibilities
Follow all safety rules policies provided by NOV.
Produce/Machine threaded Connections & parts as per the provided drawing and program.
Inspect and verify that each thread & part is generated as per the provided specification.
Follow all the guidelines provided by the Superintendent.
Maintain a neat and dean working environment.
Responsible for care, use, and protection of all company equipment. Know, understand, and follow all company and department safety rules.
Maintain clean and orderly work area. Perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent.
Perform job duties accurately and responsible. Verify part and work order.
Behavioral Skills/Competenciesrequired
Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments.
Study First article parts, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to Machining products and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
Math Skills: - Good math skills will help CNC machinists understand complex instructions, how schematics work and make sure items are designed and built correctly.
Problem Solving Skills: - CNC machinists will need to know why machines are not at peak performance, how to increase output and how to fix errors.
Attention to Detail: - CNC machinists will work with precision equipment. Being off by millimeters & Inches (Thousandth of an inch.) could be a critical error. Keen attention to detail is required.
Mechanical and Technical Skills: - Machines controlled by computers will need operators who understand CAD/CAM technology.
Stamina: - CNC machinists often work long hours doing repetitive movements.
Conceptual Skills: - Process Improvement, Verbal Communication, Functional and Technical Skills, Tooling, Coordination, Attention to Detail and Judgment
Qualifications Experience Required
DME or ITI or vocational training courses in mechanical engineering with 2 years of experience.
Work experience in Turner, Machinist, Fitter trades.
Skills, Training, Special Knowledge, And/or Language Skills
Candidate must be familiar with operating a CNC machine, on Rotatory Shoulder Connections (API, Grant Prideco, Tenaris, Vam etc.) and HWDP (Drill pipe, Drill Collars and Drill Stem Components).
Must be able to communicate in English and able to take and follow written and verbal instructions.
