Job Description

The Chief Supervisor - Clearing & Settlement is a pivotal role within the financial services sector, primarily responsible for overseeing the efficient and accurate clearing and settlement of all trading transactions. This role ensures that all trades are settled in a timely and efficient manner while also managing risk and maintaining compliance with industry regulations. The successful candidate will lead a team of professionals and collaborate with various departments to ensure that all systems and processes are optimized for efficiency. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily settlement and clearing operations, ensuring accurate and timely transaction processing.
  • Lead and manage a team of clearing and settlement professionals in daily activities.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize clearing and settlement operations.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements related to settlement and clearing.
  • Monitor market trends and regulatory changes to adapt operational strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and enhance overall service delivery.
  • Lead risk management efforts to minimize potential operational and financial risks.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve processes for increased efficiency and reduced costs.
  • Facilitate training and development programs for team members to enhance skill sets.
  • Provide analytical reporting on operational performance and suggest areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with external parties, including financial institutions and service providers, to ensure service standards.
  • Ensure that all clearing and settlement activity supports overall company goals and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in clearing, settlement, or a related financial services role.
  • Strong understanding of trading, clearing, and settlement processes within financial markets.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with a proven track record.
  • Highly analytical with the ability to process complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for internal and external correspondence.
  • Proficiency with financial software and keen knowledge of industry technological trends.
