Chief Engineer - Vessel Operations

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer for Vessel Operations to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all engineering operations related to vessels, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining efficient and effective operations. Key responsibilities include managing maintenance schedules, implementing procedures to improve operational efficiency, and leading a team of engineers to ensure the smooth running of vessel operations. The Chief Engineer will also be responsible for monitoring performance, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing technical expertise to support decision-making. Strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of marine engineering principles are essential for success in this role. A valid Chief Engineer license and prior experience in a similar role are required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all technical aspects of vessel operations to ensure safe and efficient performance.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize vessel maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Lead and direct engineering staff to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Monitor and analyze vessel performance data to identify and address operational issues.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate vessel maintenance, repairs, and dry-dock schedules.
• Conduct regular inspections of vessels to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to support decision-making processes related to vessel operations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective maintenance and repairs.
• Participate in incident investigations and develop corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and developments to make recommendations for process improvements and technological advancements.

• Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or a related field.
• Valid Chief Engineer license issued by a recognized maritime authority.
• Extensive experience as a Chief Engineer on ocean-going vessels.
• In-depth knowledge of vessel operations, maintenance, and safety regulations.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
