Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Chef de Pass to join our culinary team in an innovative Italian dining concept. As the Chef de Pass, you will play a pivotal role in the kitchen, acting as the bridge between the back of house and front of house operations. Your main responsibility will be ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of plated dishes before they reach our guests. In this fast-paced environment, a strong focus on quality control is essential to maintain the restaurant's high standards. Responsibilities

  • Ensure all dishes meet the restaurant's standards for presentation and quality.
  • Act as the primary link between kitchen staff and service staff in the restaurant.
  • Communicate effectively with chefs to confirm orders are completed on time.
  • Inspect each plate visually to confirm adherence to the culinary guidelines.
  • Coordinate the timing of dishes to ensure they are served promptly and correctly.
  • Monitor the flow of dishes to identify and prevent kitchen bottlenecks.
  • Manage and train junior kitchen staff on proper plating techniques and standards.
  • Collaborate with the head chef to improve and update menu offerings seasonally.
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
  • Work closely with front-of-house staff to exceed guest expectations and resolve issues.
  • Maintain inventory levels for plating supplies and coordinate with purchase orders.
  • Oversee special dietary requirements and modifications to ensure guest satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Pass or a similar role in a restaurant kitchen.
  • Strong knowledge and passion for Italian cuisine and culinary practices.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure consistency in dish presentation and quality.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
  • Food Safety Certification or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
