Job Description

A Business Development Manager in the Loan sector plays a crucial role in driving the growth and expansion of a financial institution's lending business. This professional is responsible for identifying new market opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to increase loan portfolio volumes and profitability. The ideal candidate should possess an in-depth understanding of the lending industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex financial products and client needs. By analyzing market trends and customer feedback, the Business Development Manager will help shape the institution’s loan offering to meet evolving demands, ensuring competitive positioning and sustainable growth.


Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the loan portfolio.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to increase loan sales and market share.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to design effective promotional campaigns for loans.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and customer needs in the lending space.
  • Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing of loan products with clients.
  • Work closely with the credit team to ensure applicants meet lending criteria.
  • Prepare and present business development reports to senior management.
  • Monitor competitor activities and adjust strategies to maintain market leadership.
  • Coordinate with product development teams to tailor loan offerings to customer demands.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards in all dealings.
  • Train and mentor junior staff in business development best practices and strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • Proven track record of successful business development in the loan sector.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to close complex deals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions.
  • In-depth knowledge of loan products and financial market dynamics.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
