Job Description

The Business Development Manager (Event Sponsorship) is a pivotal role responsible for driving growth through securing event sponsorships. This role requires a dynamic and strategic thinker with proven experience in sales and event sponsorship. The individual will work closely with the marketing and events team to identify key sponsors, negotiate partnership agreements, and ensure alignment with company strategy and goals. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of market trends, and the ability to build long-term relationships with sponsors. Success in this role is measured by the ability to meet and exceed revenue targets, showcasing creativity and initiative in approaching potential sponsors. The person in this position will serve as a bridge between the organization and potential sponsors, ensuring a mutually beneficial partnership that will enhance company events and brand exposure.


Responsibilities

  • Identify and target potential sponsors to create new business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective sponsors.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop sponsorship packages and proposals.
  • Negotiate and finalize sponsorship agreements to ensure mutual benefit and alignment.
  • Work with event management to ensure sponsor expectations are met onsite and in communication.
  • Analyze market trends to tailor sponsorship strategies effectively and creatively.
  • Monitor and report on sponsorship performance metrics and sales targets regularly.
  • Coordinate with the finance team to ensure timely and accurate invoicing and payments.
  • Provide regular feedback to internal stakeholders on sponsorship engagement and market needs.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to potential sponsors to convey event value propositions.
  • Manage sponsorship budgets and ensure cost-effective resource allocations for events.
  • Organize and participate in networking activities to gain and retain sponsors effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales or event sponsorship roles.
  • Proven track record in meeting and exceeding sales and revenue targets.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close deals effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.
  • Strong analytical skills and adeptness at interpreting market trends and data.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
