About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-looking Blockchain Technical Lead Engineer to drive innovation in digital assets, tokenisation, and decentralised technologies within a leading financial institution. This senior role combines deep technical expertise with strategic influence, enabling the organisation to explore and implement cutting-edge blockchain solutions across areas such as Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), tokenised real-world assets (RWA), and Web3 ecosystems.

As the technical lead, you will shape blockchain strategy, lead solution architecture, and oversee the delivery of pioneering projects that align with regulatory frameworks and enterprise-grade requirements. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of financial services, digital assets, and emerging technology innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the blockchain technology roadmap, with a focus on CBDCs, tokenisation, and Web3 opportunities.
• Architect and deliver scalable, secure blockchain solutions for digital assets and tokenisation use cases.
• Partner with business, risk, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure compliance and governance of blockchain initiatives.
• Build proofs of concept and pilot projects, translating emerging technologies into viable enterprise solutions.
• Lead and mentor engineering teams, embedding best practices in blockchain development, security, and performance.
• Collaborate with external partners, fintechs, and technology providers to integrate blockchain platforms and ecosystems.
• Stay ahead of industry developments, providing thought leadership on digital assets and distributed ledger technologies.

Candidate Profile

• 12+ years in technology engineering roles, with at least 5 years in blockchain architecture, platforms, and solutions.
• Proven experience with Ethereum, Hyperledger, R3 Corda, or equivalent enterprise blockchain platforms.
• Strong understanding of CBDC frameworks, tokenisation models, and RWA tokenisation.
• Exposure to Web3 technologies, smart contracts, and decentralised application design.
• Background in financial services, fintech, or regulated markets preferred.
• Hands-on expertise in programming languages such as Solidity, Go, Java, or Python, with strong cryptography knowledge.
• Track record of leading cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to balance long-term vision with delivery of immediate business outcomes.
