Job Description

A Bank Teller plays a crucial role in providing efficient and courteous service to customers at the bank's front counter. The role involves handling various financial transactions, assisting customers with account-related inquiries, and promoting the bank's products and services. Bank Tellers are the face of the bank, and they are responsible for ensuring a positive and professional customer experience.


Responsibilities:


  • Greet customers warmly and professionally as they approach the bank counter. Provide excellent customer service by addressing their inquiries, resolving issues, and assisting with various banking transactions.
  • Process cash deposits, withdrawals, and currency exchanges accurately and efficiently. Count and verify cash amounts to ensure accuracy in all transactions.
  • Accept and process checks and drafts for deposit and cashing. Verify the authenticity of instruments and adhere to bank policies and procedures.
  • Perform various account-related transactions, including balance inquiries, fund transfers, and account updates.
  • Proactively promote the bank's products and services to customers, such as credit cards, loans, savings accounts, and investment opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Adhere to the bank's security and compliance policies, such as verifying customer identities, reporting suspicious activities, and following anti-money laundering (AML) protocols.
  • Utilize banking software and computer systems to process transactions, access customer information, and perform necessary administrative tasks.
  • Identify potential cross-selling opportunities based on customer needs and refer customers to appropriate bank representatives or departments.
  • Manage customer queues effectively, minimizing waiting times, and ensuring an orderly flow of transactions.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (not always mandatory for entry-level positions).
  • Prior experience as a Bank Teller is beneficial but not always required. Some banks may hire and provide training for entry-level candidates.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with customers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in using computers and basic banking software.
  • Knowledge of banking products, services, and procedures is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with UAE banking regulations and compliance requirements is beneficial.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Integrity and trustworthiness, as Bank Tellers deal with sensitive financial transactions and customer information.
  • Fluency in English is essential, and knowledge of Arabic or other languages may be advantageous, depending on the customer base.
