Job Summary

Strategy

  • Grow the franchise for International Corporate (MENA ex. KSA) clients.
  • Develop our business in line with internal and external requirements.
  • Awareness and understanding of the firm’s business strategy and model appropriate to the role.

Business

  • Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the firm operates.
  • Originate and grow the FM Macro business for the Corporate Sales business and International Corporate clients in line with bank’s aspirations.
  • Ensure the Bank’s clients receive FX, Rates, Commodities, Credit and other derivative pricing and support both in terms of trading, idea generation and market information.
  • Respond promptly and positively to all requests from clients for specific transactions, general advice and/or redirecting the client to the appropriate contact within SCB.
  • Ensure alertness to risk of money laundering and assist in the Bank’s efforts combating it by adhering to the key principles in relation to: identifying the client, knowing the client, reporting suspicions and safeguarding records.

Processes

  • Ensure that all processes in country are adhered to in line with approved policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all processes and control in country conform to Group Standard, and where they deviate approval is sought from the appropriate governance forum.
  • Ensure that processes and controls in country are monitored and report in line with the group operational risk framework.
  • Ensure that thorough root cause analysis is performed on operational risk events and deficiencies acted upon.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Management

  • Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the firm. Awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the firm and the role the individual plays in managing them.
  • The ability to interpret the firm’s financial information, identifying key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.
  • Must be aware of and follow procedures including cross-border, term sheets, Dodd-Frank where applicable, along with fair pricing, disclaimers, and marketing materials.
  • Ensure operational risk management and reporting is an integral part of the business process.
  • Monitor all major risk issues and concentrations and, where appropriate, direct remedial action and/or ensure adequate reporting to Risk Committees or functional product heads as it relates to the role.

Key Stakeholders

  • Line Manager: Business development, personal growth and any other matters arising in the normal course of business and in exceptional situations.
  • Head of Financial Markets: Business development, personal growth and any other matters arising in the normal course of business and in exceptional situations.
  • Trading Desks: To obtain pricing for products dealt with customers.
  • FNOPS (Financial Institutions and Non - Banking Financial Operations), CMO (Cash Management Operations), Trade and other Operational Units: To see through a transaction from the time of booking to settlement and beyond.
  • Structuring and Legal and other relevant teams: To obtain the necessary insights and to make certain that the booking of transactions take place within the procedures and guidelines set.
  • Business segments, Compliance, Operations, HR and other relevant departments within the bank.
  • Other relevant business heads, their reportees and delegates.
  • Key clients and potential clients and those related to such entities, e.g., tax, legal advisors, etc.
  • Local and regional, and offshore regulators and industry bodies, etc.

Other Responsibilities

  • Embed Here for good and Group’s brand and values in Institutional Corporates Sales team; Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures; Multiple functions (double hats);
