Responsibilities

• Assist in the assessment of patients’ health needs and provide appropriate care.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and report significant changes promptly to nurses.
• Support patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of patients’ rooms and hospital equipment.
• Record patient information accurately, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
• Prepare medical equipment and assist healthcare professionals during procedures.
• Provide emotional support to patients, promoting a compassionate care environment.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to implement patient care plans effectively.
• Educate patients and families on the care and management of illnesses or injuries.
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure availability for daily operations.
• Administer medications and treatments under the supervision of registered nurses.
• Encourage and assist patients in participating in physical or rehabilitative therapy sessions.

Requirements

• Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant program, with certification.
• At least one year of experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
• Strong understanding of medical procedures, terminology, and healthcare practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with medical staff.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping.
• Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Physical stamina to perform tasks involving long periods of standing, lifting, and movement.
