Job Description

The Assistant Maintenance Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of facilities and equipment within an organization. This position demands a proactive individual with excellent leadership skills and a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will assist in overseeing routine maintenance, the timely repair of equipment, and implementing preventive maintenance programs. They will collaborate closely with different departments to ensure that maintenance activities do not disrupt the organization's daily operations. Besides regular maintenance duties, they will also be responsible for managing maintenance staff, scheduling shifts, maintaining inventories of supplies, and ensuring that safety standards are met at all times. Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing maintenance policies and procedures effectively.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Monitor available inventory of supplies and place orders when necessary.
  • Conduct routine inspections on all equipment to identify potential faults early.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within all maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the maintenance team as needed.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of facility improvement projects.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate maintenance records, including service reports and expenses.
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee service agreements effectively.
  • Coordinate with other departments to minimize downtime during maintenance tasks.
  • Supervise and mentor junior maintenance staff, fostering a productive work environment.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technological advancements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role for at least three years.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building systems required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus.
  • Solid understanding of maintenance management software and tools.
  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting heavy equipment and working in various environments.
