About the Team
We are upgrading the traditional procurement system into an AI-native procurement platform, with a strong focus on building Procurement Agents. As part of ByteDance's Corporate Information department, we design and operate corporate service systems that support the company's global business growth and improve the day-to-day work efficiency and experience of employees worldwide.
Procurement is a complex, high-value domain full of long workflows, rich business rules, and real decision-making. It is one of the most promising places to apply cutting-edge AI Agent technologies to real, large-scale problems. We are reimagining how employees and business partners interact with procurement through intelligent agents, and building the underlying System AI Harness that lets agents plan, act, and deliver reliably.
Here, you will work at the frontier of AI Agent engineering while developing deep, end-to-end knowledge of a complex business domain. You will have the opportunity to explore emerging technologies and contribute meaningfully to both our products and technical foundations from an early stage in your career.

Responsibilities
- Focus on the construction and cutting-edge exploration of Procurement Agents and the System AI Harness, taking ownership from design and implementation through validation, release, and continuous improvement.
- Design, develop, and maintain the core services, business logic, data flows, and system integrations that power AI-native procurement, with attention to maintainability, scalability, performance, and operational stability.
- Explore and implement AI Agent capabilities — such as planning, tool use, memory, and multi-step reasoning — and turn them into reliable, production-grade features that solve real procurement problems.
- Prototype quickly, evaluate emerging AI techniques, and translate promising research and ideas into practical product capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to break down complex and ambiguous problems and deliver complete, end-to-end solutions.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, and eligible for the 2027 campus hiring program.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Golang / Java / Python), with solid programming fundamentals and good coding habits.
- Solid system design and coding implementation capabilities, with the ability to design, build, test, and maintain complete features.
- Experience with AI-related projects or research, a strong sense of innovation, and outstanding hands-on skills.
- High intelligence, strong logical thinking, and excellent independent thinking and problem-breakdown abilities.
- Strong curiosity and self-motivation, with a genuine passion for exploring and applying frontier AI technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience building AI-powered applications, Agent-based products, AI Coding tools, or other developer productivity solutions.
- Experience with LLM-based systems, prompt engineering, RAG, tool/function calling, or agent orchestration frameworks.
- Internship, academic, open-source, or personal project experience demonstrating end-to-end ownership of a non-trivial system.
- Experience improving system performance, engineering efficiency, or stability in real-world projects.
- Achievements in top-tier competitions, research publications, or high-quality open-source contributions.
- A proactive mindset and strong drive to turn emerging AI technologies into practical, high-impact products.
