Job Description
The Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing costs, preparing budgets, and providing insights to support pricing decisions. They review and analyze financial data, develop cost allocation models, and identify opportunities for cost savings. The Cost Accountant also monitors inventory levels and assesses the financial impact of production processes.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze costs and prepare cost reports.
- Develop cost allocation models and pricing strategies.
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Collaborate with procurement and production teams to gather cost-related information.
- Prepare and analyze budgets and financial forecasts.
- Assess the financial impact of production processes and recommend optimizations.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and potential areas of improvement.
- Ensure compliance with cost accounting standards and regulations.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in cost accounting practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Proven experience in credit analysis or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of financial analysis and risk assessment.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
