Job Description
The Welder is responsible for joining metal parts together using various welding techniques. They will read and interpret blueprints, operate welding equipment, and ensure the quality of welded joints. This role requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and knowledge of welding processes and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and follow blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
- Set up welding equipment and select appropriate welding techniques.
- Ensure proper weld sizing and alignment.
- Inspect welds for defects and perform necessary repairs.
- Maintain welding equipment and troubleshoot issues.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
- Collaborate with engineers and fabricators to plan and execute projects.
- Estimate material and time requirements for welding projects.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in welding or similar fields.
- Proficiency in various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, ARC).
- Familiarity with welding tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of welding safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Attention to detail and strong manual dexterity.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various positions and environments.
