Job Description

A Supply Chain Officer plays a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the operations across an organization’s supply chain, ensuring the seamless flow of goods, services, and information from origin to consumption. This role involves collaborating with suppliers, procurement teams, and logistics personnel to enhance supply chain efficiency and generate cost savings. The Supply Chain Officer must also oversee inventory levels, analyze supply chain functions, and implement improvements to assist the organization in achieving its strategic goals. With robust analytical and problem-solving skills, the Officer is responsible for maintaining a resilient and agile supply chain that adapts to changes and challenges in the market. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of supply chain processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced settings.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders including suppliers and internal departments to optimize supply chain operations.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
  • Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure beneficial terms and conditions.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of supply chain processes to ensure compliance and performance standards.
  • Manage logistics and distribution activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
  • Resolve supply chain issues promptly, minimizing disruptions to operations and services.
  • Maintain and establish KPIs to evaluate performance and guide decision-making processes.
  • Ensure supply chain activities align with organizational goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare and present reports on supply chain operations and performance metrics to management.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technologies to continue enhancing supply chain processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in supply chain operations or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets effectively.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills to manage supplier relationships.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on process improvement and operational efficiency.
