The Insurance Specialist is responsible for managing and administering various insurance policies, with a primary focus on Group Medical Insurance. The role involves handling additions, deletions, claims, and disputes, as well as supporting the preparation of documents for RFIs/RFQs and ensuring smooth operational workflows. The Insurance Specialist will proactively identify gaps in coverage, evaluate insurable risks, and provide recommendations to enhance policy effectiveness.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities :

Medical Insurance Management

  • Administer Group Medical Insurance, including additions, deletions, and modifications.
  • Handle reimbursement claims, resolve disputes, and provide necessary support for claim processing.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employees regarding queries related to Group Medical Insurance.
  • Maintain accurate records of payment processing, cross-check invoices, and ensure timely submission of payments.

Policy Administration

  • Prepare and maintain documentation for insurance policies, declarations, certificates, and premium payouts.
  • Track and update policy-related changes, ensuring all additions, deletions, and modifications are accurately recorded.
  • Support the preparation of necessary declarations for various policies, including Fleet, Marine, Business Travel, and others.

Risk Management

  • Create templates to record risks as they are identified and evaluate whether they can be incorporated into insurance coverage.
  • Proactively identify gaps in coverage and evaluate insurable risks to advise the Director/Insurance on potential improvements.

Procurement And Payment Processing

  • Prepare Purchase Requests (PR) and other related activities to support the procurement process ensure timely release of payments for insurance premiums and related expenses.
  • Ensure all receipts are duly accounted for and reconciled with payment records.
  • Verify the accuracy of all premiums, profit commissions, and return premiums to ensure correctness.

RFI/RFQ Support

  • Assist in the preparation of documents for Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Quotation (RFQ).
  • Supports in analysing insurance quotes and provide insights to support decision-making.

Operational Support

  • Handle clerical tasks to ensure smooth operations within the insurance section.
  • Maintain organized records and ensure compliance with internal processes and external regulations.

Technology And Innovation

  • Stay updated on the latest AI tools and IT solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Utilize technology to streamline workflows and improve data analysis for insurance management.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience :

Educational Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in business administration, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in insurance or risk management (e.g., CII, ARM) are preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in insurance management, with a focus on medical insurance and corporate policies.
  • Proven track record in claims handling ( mainly medical), policy administration, and risk evaluation.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with AI tools/IT solutions for insurance operations.
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating quotes and identifying insurable risks.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with employees and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple policies and tasks simultaneously.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to identify gaps and recommend solutions.
