Job Description

The Specialist – Catering Operations is a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of all catering events and operations within an organization. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of catering services to ensure client satisfaction and successful event execution. Your expertise will be vital in liaising with clients to understand their catering needs and preferences and conveying these to the catering team. You will oversee logistical aspects, including staff coordination, inventory management, and timely delivery of services. Additionally, you will ensure all catering activities comply with health and safety regulations, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service quality. An excellent communicator and organizer, you will work closely with event planners, chefs, and other team members to deliver exceptional catering experiences.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage all catering operations and services for various events.
  • Communicate with clients to understand and fulfill their catering needs and preferences.
  • Liaise with the culinary team to develop menus that meet client specifications.
  • Oversee staff assignments and ensure efficient service delivery during events.
  • Manage inventory levels and procure necessary supplies for catering operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all catering activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers for catering needs.
  • Monitor catering budgets and work to maintain cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Evaluate and improve catering processes and workflows for operational efficiency.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and implement improvements.
  • Train and mentor catering staff to uphold service standards and protocols.
  • Respond to and resolve customer inquiries and issues promptly and professionally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Catering Management, or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in catering operations or event management.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and multitasking ability.
  • Proven ability to manage staff and coordinate large-scale catering events effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interactions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations in catering.
  • Proficiency in event management software and other relevant technological tools.
