MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Perform wide variety of sheet metal fabrication projects in order to support the accomplishment of the maintenance mission.
Examine detailed engineering drawings or specifications to determine the job scope, material specifications, and equipment requirements.
Cut, roll, shape, and bend metals to fabricate crafting fixtures and subassemblies.
Assemble sheet metal parts and sign board structures by joining them through welding, bolting, or riveting.
Operate various types of mechanical punching and blanking machines.
Setup, operate and maintain progressive blanking and punching dies.
Finish products by flattening, countersinking, mechanical vibratory tumbling and filing when necessary.
Encode and operate the military ID tag engraving machine including final assembly of tags and chains.
Record daily maintenance-related data such as work accomplished and man-hours utilised.
Support the training of lower-level machinists by answering questions, resolving operating difficulties and reviewing complex work assignments.
Comply with all safety, housekeeping and environmental directives.
Store and dispose of all hazardous materials in accordance with applicable company directives and host country environmental regulations.
Maintain all equipment by undertaking all user preventive maintenance requirements.
Ensure all issued tools, uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is accounted for, maintained and secured.
Maintain the confidentiality and security of all company information.
Support other members of the Fabrication Workshop in fulfilling their roles.
Perform other duties as required by the Manager, Fabrication.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma is required, a college diploma or machine shop certification is preferred.
A minimum of two years of experience performing formal sheet metal fabrication, assembly and installation is required; in a manufacturing industry or in the automotive industry is preferred.
A minimum of one year of experience in a supervisory position is required.
Previous automotive industry experience is an advantage.
Familiarity with hand operated and machining sheet metal tools, welding equipment and/or CNC devices is preferred.
The ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings/schematics is required.
The ability to read and use conventional and digital precision measuring instruments and tools is required.
The ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally is required.
Have, or be able to obtain a valid UAE driver’s license
