JOB TITLE: Supervisor - Construction (Lifting)
Key Responsibilities
Review lift plans for Non-Routine (Complex and Critical Categories), Weighing procedures, and Loadout Manuals with Construction Support Operations (CSO) department at home office. Must be in line with Petrofac and project HSSE policies and guidelines.
Working closely with Construction lead and team leads to develop lift and haul schedules at site and assist wide optimization and utilization of lifting resources according to site priorities.
Assessing lifting / hauling operations to provide planning, selection of crane, lifting gear & equipment, instruction, and necessary safety precaution.
Support in developing lift study, heavy haul plans, weighing and loadout plans, method statement and JSA’s.
Conduct daily site audits to ensure HSE and Lifting / Hauling inspections and procedure compliance.
Monitoring of project lifting & rigging operations to ensure all lifts are performed in accordance with approved rigging plans and procedure
Qualified person for all Load-out, Load-in and Erection activities using lifting equipment.
Ensure all lifting / hauling equipment are well maintained, inspected and certified by approved 3rd party and meets the regulatory frequency.
Ensure all personnel involved in lifting / hauling operation are trained, competent and 3rd party certified.
Reviewing and approving routine lift plan, rigging & lifting procedure and lift studies including subcontractor’s lift plan.
Confirming there is an effective procedure for reporting defects and incidents and taking any corrective action.
Ensuring that the implementation of Petrofac procedures are in place and sub – contractors adhering to them.
Support in conducting Verification of Competency assessments onsite.

Skills & Competencies
Good communications skills
Have a knowledge of lifting and Rigging International Standards like ASME, OHSA.
Trained and competent for the task in accordance with local legal requirements whenever applicable i.e. Abu Dhabi EHSMS – EHS Code of Practice 34.0: Safe use of Lifting Equipment and Lifting Accessories
Have formal training by an approved third-party training institute approved by Petrofac and accredited by OPITO i.e. NPORS BV (or equivalent 3rd part training), letters from the Crane Supplier will NOT be accepted
Be authorized in writing by the employing company and Petrofac
Able to produce working reports
Familiar with PTW system
Able to coordinate possible SIMOPS
Able to train and qualify riggers, rigging supervisors and crane operators.
Must have working knowledge and interpretation skills of lifting drawing and calculations and provide guidance to subcontractors. Capable of reviewing and approving lift plans/studies, rigging & lifting procedures.
Also, able to generate project lifting & rigging procedures when necessary.
Have general knowledge in the inspection of stationary lifting equipment’s like overhead cranes, gantry, davit arms winches and others.
