Job Description

A Senior Quantity Surveyor plays a critical role in the construction and infrastructure sectors, ensuring that projects are delivered on budget and meet the financial projections set by the stakeholders. This position requires both strategic oversight and hands-on management of the cost aspects of construction projects. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to manage resources efficiently, reducing costs without compromising on quality. Your expertise in cost estimation, budget management, and contract administration will be vital in safeguarding the financial health of construction projects. Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial performance aligns with goals.
  • Perform comprehensive cost analysis to ensure efficient resource allocation.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and forecast project financial outcomes accurately.
  • Administer contract implementation and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms and prices.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate financial risks effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers to align cost strategies with operational needs.
  • Produce regular financial reports and presentations for stakeholders and senior management.
  • Track and document changes in design and adjust budget projections accordingly.
  • Lead and mentor junior quantity surveyors, providing guidance and development opportunities.
  • Review and approve final project cost reports and ensure accurate financial closure.
  • Implement best practices in quantity surveying and cost management methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Extensive experience with cost management and estimation practices in construction.
  • Proficiency in using advanced software tools for quantity surveying and data analysis.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage financial aspects of large-scale construction projects.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in evaluation.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interface effectively with stakeholders.
