Senior CAD Technician

The Senior CAD Technician is responsible for producing high-quality technical drawings and detailed designs across architectural, structural, or MEP disciplines using CAD software. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring all plans meet project specifications, industry standards, and quality benchmarks. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with AutoCAD, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, and project managers.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed CAD drawings based on sketches, redlines, and verbal instructions.

• Collaborate with engineers and architects to translate design concepts into technical drawings.

• Review and revise drawings according to feedback from design leads and stakeholders.

• Ensure compliance with company and industry CAD standards and practices.

• Manage and maintain an organized CAD library of templates, blocks, and symbols.

• Perform quality checks on drawings before final submission.

• Coordinate with other departments to resolve drawing discrepancies or conflicts.

• Support project teams during all phases of design and construction documentation.

• Update existing drawings to reflect design changes and modifications.

• Provide mentorship and technical support to junior CAD staff.

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in CAD drafting/design within a consultancy or construction environment.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit and BIM knowledge is a strong advantage.

• Familiarity with local and international drawing standards.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering/architectural plans.

• Effective communication and coordination skills.

• Capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
