In the dynamic and fast-paced world of supply chain and procurement, the role of a Senior Buyer emerges as a pivotal position that combines strategic insight with practical application. As a Senior Buyer, your expertise will drive cost-effective purchasing decisions while ensuring the highest quality of goods and services. You will serve as a liaison between suppliers and our organization, negotiating terms that bolster our company's competitive edge. The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical mind, excellent negotiation skills, and a passion for building sustainable supplier relationships. Key to your role will be your ability to manage the procurement process end-to-end, implement procurement strategies that align with business goals, and continuously optimize inventory. Your leadership will be critical in mentoring junior buyers and collaborating across departments to influence how goods and services are sourced, priced, and integrated into our business. This role requires precision in execution and a strategic mindset to anticipate future market trends that could impact purchasing decisions.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to optimize cost savings and efficiencies.
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors worldwide.
  • Lead negotiations to achieve favorable terms for pricing and delivery timelines.
  • Analyze market trends and forecasts to identify future procurement opportunities or risks.
  • Manage the procurement of goods and services from start to finish effectively.
  • Monitor supplier performance and implement measures for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the maintenance of procurement records and contract management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
  • Mentor junior buyers and procurement staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Review purchase orders for compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Drive initiatives to ensure supplier diversity and sustainability in procurement practices.
  • Evaluate and authorize bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for optimal value.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum seven years' experience in procurement or a similar field.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading negotiations with suppliers.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to drive procurement strategy.
  • Experience with procurement software and the ability to learn new applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team collaboration and development.
