A Category Demand Supply Planner is a strategic role essential for coordinating and optimizing the balance between supply and demand for specific product categories. Within this role, the individual is expected to apply analytical skills and industry insights to forecast demand patterns accurately and ensure that the supply chain operates efficiently. The role involves close collaboration with various stakeholders, including sales, marketing, and supply chain teams, to synchronize efforts toward achieving business objectives. This planner must employ various tools and methodologies to analyze data, manage inventory levels, and ensure timely product availability, all while minimizing waste and reducing costs. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts by analyzing sales data trends.
  • Collaborate routinely with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to align plans.
  • Implement and utilize analytical tools to enhance forecast accuracy and efficiency.
  • Oversee inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock without overstocking or shortages.
  • Prepare regular supply chain reports to inform management and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate product transitions and launches, minimizing disruption to supply chain.
  • Monitor demand fluctuations and adjust supply strategies accordingly and proactively.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors to streamline and optimize supply processes.
  • Evaluate demand patterns and categorize products for tailored supply strategies.
  • Identify and implement process improvements within the supply planning workflow.
  • Manage supply chain risks by developing contingency plans for unforeseen events.
  • Collaborate on the development and refinement of strategic business objectives.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in demand planning or similar roles.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in forecasting and data analysis software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve shared outcomes.
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail and proactive mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in a fast-paced environment.
