Under general supervision, the Senior Assembler – RFID performs complex mechanical and electrical assemblies of RFID-enabled products in accordance with technical documentation, drawings, and established procedures. The role requires a strong background in both mechanical and electronic assembly, and experience in functional testing, troubleshooting, and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of WCT RFID products per engineering drawings, process documents, and technical specifications.
  • Understand and work with complex hydraulic and pneumatic circuits.
  • Proficiently use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic devices to ensure high-quality builds.
  • Independently assemble a complete product line with minimal supervision.
  • Perform final inspections and ensure all documentation is accurate and complete for traceability.
  • Communicate effectively with Production, Engineering, and Test departments to support seamless assembly operations.
  • Mentor and support junior assembly technicians, including coordination of mentorship assignments.
  • Assist in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives.
  • Support effective planning and kitting operations in alignment with production schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of assembly and test results in compliance with quality systems.
  • Collaborate with inspection and engineering to troubleshoot and resolve non-conformities.
  • Represent the company during third-party inspections to ensure adherence to customer quality plans.
  • Perform house-keeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to all Weatherford safety, environmental, and quality policies.
  • Support warehouse and stores functions as required.
  • Complete any other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Skills

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong mechanical and electro-mechanical aptitude.
  • Advanced understanding of mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Ability to rework and troubleshoot assemblies across the full product line.
  • Proficient in using tools, diagnostic equipment, and software for assembly and testing.
  • Functional English language skills (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, ERP systems, etc.).
  • Familiar with ISO 9000/2000 compliance requirements.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen principles.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Technical Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in electro-mechanical assembly or manufacturing, preferably in RFID-enabled systems.
  • Familiarity with Operational Excellence and Quality Systems.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Experience in RFID-based product assembly or testing.
