About The Job

The Sales Engineer will work directly with the customers including end users and engineering companies to develop cooling solutions for their process. Working with field sales people and manufacturer’s representatives is also essential in all facets of the sales effort toward negotiating eventual purchase order from the customer.

About The Position

This position will require the understanding of heat transfer calculations, mechanical design aspects of equipment and work up cost estimates within our system. The Sales Engineer position has a broad range of responsibilities to include the following:

  • Completes thermal analysis of customer requirements and thermal design using heat transfer principles and calculations.
  • Assist other sales engineers with the design and proposal of our system.
  • Prepare proposals on the project’s technical specifications and requirements.
  • Supervise and organize bid preparation and ensure accuracy of costing estimating.
  • Participate in presentations at customer locations and negotiations.
  • Continuous communication with our customer is essential to provide our engineered to order heat transfer products.
  • Participating in training sessions, meetings, skill building and professional development classes.
  • Attend industry conferences to develop industry expertise.
  • Works with management to create and implement sales strategies and policies.
  • Assists manager with other tasks as needed.
  • Follows all safety policies and company-wide safety requirements; encourages action assuring safe behavior; confronts unsafe behavior and conditions proactively and positively.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Conducts himself/herself in a considerate, professional, cooperative and helpful manner toward fellow employees, customers, vendors and visitors.

What You Know

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with Mechanical or chemical preferred. Professional experience in Heat Transfer is preferred, but not required. Additional competencies to include the following:

  • Requires medium level technical and financial knowledge to effectively estimate and sell with some degree of independence.
  • Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills along with organization and presentation skills.
  • Must effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.
  • Working knowledge of computer software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Some working knowledge of Autocad and/or Solidworks is ideal.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently (self-directed) and with others as part of a team.
  • Able to confidently interact with a variety of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
  • Must have valid drivers license.
  • Required to travel both International/Domestic at approximately 25-35%.
