Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to join our team and ensure that our workplace is safe and compliant with all regulations. As a Safety Officer, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining safety procedures and protocols to reduce risks and prevent accidents. You will work closely with management and employees to develop a culture of safety and awareness. The successful candidate will have comprehensive experience in safety procedures, hazard identification, and risk assessment. You will also need strong analytical skills and a commitment to continuous improvement. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
  • Collaborate with management to promote workplace safety and implement safety improvements.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents to determine the root cause and implement corrective measures.
  • Provide safety training and education to enhance employee awareness and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
  • Monitor compliance with occupational safety standards and legal requirements.
  • Advise on strategies to minimize risk and improve workplace safety conditions.
  • Respond to emergency situations and develop emergency response plans.
  • Conduct safety audits and produce detailed reports with recommendations.
  • Encourage a culture of safety responsibility among staff and management.
  • Coordinate safety committee meetings and track progress on safety initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or a related field.
  • Proven work experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with staff and management.
  • Certification in occupational health and safety is highly desirable.
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations and develop well-structured plans.
