The Date Palm Unit is seeking a dedicated and skilled Research Assistant to join our team. This role involves executing methodologies for plant tissue culture and micropropagation cloning activities, playing a crucial part in our mission to advance mass-scale clone production. Primary Responsibilities:
Perform tissue culture and micropropagation methodologies for large-scale clone production.
Help execute cultivation methods for efficient, high-throughput propagation.
Maintain glassware and culture media stock for production.
Operate laboratory equipment safely, including autoclaves, centrifuges, incubators, laminar flow hoods, and analytical balances.
Ensure the cleanliness of glassware, plastic ware, and other supplies as needed.
Minimum Qualification
High school as a minimum requirement.
Diploma in Plant Science or a related field as a maximum qualification.
Preferred Qualification
High school as a minimum requirement.
Diploma in Plant Science or a related field as a maximum qualification. Experience:
1-2 years of experience in plant tissue culture, nursery production, plant propagation, or a sterile laboratory setting, or a combination thereof, is strongly preferred.
Experience in setting up, operating, and maintaining laboratory equipment and apparatus, and modifying equipment according to experimental specifications.
Proficiency in optimizing plant production techniques/protocols and maintaining general laboratory cleanliness, organization, and safety.
Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to perform delicate work with small hand tools for extended periods.
