Job Description

A Registered Nurse (RN) plays a pivotal role in the healthcare team by providing crucial medical and emotional support to patients. They are responsible for assessing patient needs, developing care plans, and implementing medical treatments. Registered Nurses work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities, adapting to the unique challenges each environment presents. In addition to direct patient care, RNs collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of care. Their duties also extend to educating patients and their families about health conditions and self-care practices. An RN must possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to make quick and informed decisions under pressure.


Responsibilities

  • Assess and monitor patient conditions through regular examinations and tests.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare teams.
  • Administer medications and treatments prescribed by physicians.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
  • Document all patient care activities and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Coordinate care and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Assist in patient admissions, discharges, and transfers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and evaluate results to inform treatment decisions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for all patients.
  • Participate in continuous education and professional development activities.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies and provide immediate care when required.

Requirements

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience in a clinical setting.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for patient interaction.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using medical equipment and electronic health records.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and professional ethics.
