Job Description

We are on the lookout for a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the Operating Theatre (OT). As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that surgical procedures are conducted smoothly and safely. You will be responsible for preparing the operating room, managing sterilization and infection control protocols, and assisting surgeons during various procedures. Your keen eye for detail, strong clinical skills, and compassionate nature are essential in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to successful surgical outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and sterilize operating theatres according to standard medical protocols.
  • Assist surgeons during operations by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
  • Monitor patient vitals and report any critical changes to the medical team.
  • Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are thoroughly cleaned post-surgery.
  • Administer preoperative and postoperative medications to patients as prescribed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document any intraoperative details or incidents.
  • Coordinate with anesthetists and other healthcare professionals for optimal patient care.
  • Provide training and support to junior nursing staff and new hires in the OT.
  • Comply with hospital regulations and national health standards in all practices.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and attend relevant workshops.
  • Engage in patient and family education pre- and post-surgery for optimal recovery.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies ensuring swift intervention and stabilization.

Requirements

  • Hold a current Registered Nurse license .
  • Previous experience in an operating theatre environment is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle stressful situations with composure and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse medical teams.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail in high-pressure situations.
  • Capability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to patient privacy protocols.
