Job Description

As a Receptionist in the healthcare sector, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, playing an integral role in creating a welcoming and efficient environment. You will be responsible for managing the front desk operations, ensuring that all patients are attended to with compassion and professionalism. Your role involves not only clerical duties but also being attentive to the needs of patients, showcasing empathy and excellent communication skills. From managing patient appointments to coordinating with medical staff, your role is pivotal in maintaining the smooth functioning of the healthcare facility. Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly upon their arrival at the facility.
  • Manage and schedule patient appointments utilizing the healthcare software system.
  • Handle phone inquiries, directing calls to appropriate medical or administrative staff.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Assist patients with completing necessary forms and processing information.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to prepare for patient consultations and treatments.
  • Manage patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently and accurately.
  • Update patient records and insurance information as required by healthcare standards.
  • Handle billing inquiries, processing payments, and issuing receipts to patients.
  • Provide information on healthcare services and address patient queries effectively.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area for a professional appearance.
  • Assist in emergency situations, providing calm and direction as needed.


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification is mandatory.
  • Previous experience working as a receptionist, preferably in healthcare.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in healthcare management software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Strong organizational ability with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in handling patient records.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations with a calm demeanor.
