As a Receptionist in the healthcare industry, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors entering the facility, playing a vital role in creating a positive first impression. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the front desk. In this highly dynamic environment, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as you will handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and maintain patient records. Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors promptly, warmly, and professionally upon arrival.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and manage daily appointment scheduling accurately.
  • Coordinate appointment changes and cancellations, ensuring effective daily scheduling.
  • Maintain patient records and input information into the healthcare management system.
  • Verify patient insurance details and process copays during check-in.
  • Provide necessary information about available healthcare services and procedures.
  • Ensure the waiting area remains clean, organized, and welcoming for all visitors.
  • Manage patient confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance at all times.
  • Assist in preparing documents and materials for patient visits as required.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to provide excellent patient support services.
  • Handle patient inquiries and concerns professionally, providing appropriate solutions.
  • Maintain office supplies inventory and order items as needed for front desk operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required for the position.
  • Proven experience as a receptionist or in a similar administrative role.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential for this role.
  • Proficiency in using healthcare management systems and related software applications.
  • High level of attention to detail, especially when managing patient records.
  • Empathetic and professional demeanor with strong customer service abilities.
