Job Description

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the financial and contract management aspects of construction projects. You'll be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed within their projected budgets while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with regulations. Working closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers, you will prepare cost estimates, contract documents, and manage negotiations during the pre-construction phase. Your keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and effective communication abilities will enable successful project execution and financial oversight. Moreover, you will contribute to the project's lifecycle by ensuring costs are controlled, risks are minimized, and any variations are effectively managed.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage accurate and detailed project cost estimates for clients.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of project requirements and technical specifications.
  • Assist in tendering processes, including preparation of tender documents and contracts.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and contractors to adhere to budgets.
  • Monitor and report on project progress in relation to the financial plan.
  • Ensure compliance with all building regulations, codes, and legal requirements.
  • Advise clients and project teams on cost-effective design solutions.
  • Identify, analyze, and develop responses to potential project risks and costs.
  • Attend and contribute to project meetings with stakeholders and team members.
  • Prepare and submit monthly valuations and final accounts for approval.
  • Develop strong relationships with project teams, clients, and stakeholders for effective collaboration.
  • Manage any variations or changes to project specifications and their financial impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Excellent financial and numerical skills for detailed cost analysis.
  • Proficient in the use of industry software such as CAD and cost estimation programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder interaction.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
