The Division of Engineering, New York University Abu Dhabi, seek to recruit a Postdoctoral Associate to work on a fascinating project focused on the experimental and numerical modeling in the broad area of geomechs for energy applications. The position will be directly supervised by Professors Tarek Abdoun and Mostafa Mobasher.
Required Qualifications
A successful applicant must have a PhD in Engineering Mechanics, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. Applicants are expected to demonstrate research experience in the fields of computational mechanics and computational geomechanics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the following areas is preferred:
- Experience in modeling geomechanical systems
- Experience in running hydraulic fracturing experiments
- Experience in advanced imaging tools
- Experience in Multiphysics modeling in solid mechanics framework
- Experience in non-linear solid material response and fracture modeling
- Experience in machine-learning modeling for solid mechanics applications
- Experience in the development and coupling of numerical methods for solid mechanics modeling
