As a Lead Mechanical Engineer specializing in Combined Cycle Gas Turbines (CCGT), you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the performance of our CCGT power plant operations. This position requires a thorough understanding of mechanical engineering principles coupled with extensive knowledge of turbine technology and power generation processes. You will lead a team of engineers to ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and development of engineering solutions to improve plant performance. Your role will also involve strategizing and executing projects aimed at enhancing the reliability and efficiency of mechanical systems within the plant. You must be adept at problem-solving, capable of making critical decisions under pressure, and driven by the desire to advance power generation technology. As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to mentor junior engineers, facilitate continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory standards and safety protocols. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the mechanical engineering team focused on CCGT systems.
  • Develop strategies to enhance performance and efficiency of power plant systems.
  • Oversee maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize plant operations.
  • Evaluate and implement engineering solutions for complex mechanical issues.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support overall plant performance goals.
  • Analyze plant data to identify opportunities for system improvements or upgrades.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineering staff consistently.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for project planning and execution.
  • Liaise with external vendors and consultants to ensure project success.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is essential.
  • Minimum of ten years experience in mechanical engineering within CCGT operations.
  • Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams in a power plant environment.
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics related to power plants.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and project management skills are required.
  • Demonstrated experience with software tools used in turbine and plant analysis.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards applicable to power generation.
  • Professional Engineering License or ability to obtain one is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
