OpenShift and OpenStack Operations Engineer

Were looking for a skilled OpenShift and OpenStack Operations Engineer to join our managed services team. In this role, youll be responsible for the day-to-day operations and 24/7 support of our critical OpenShift and OpenStack environments. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the stability, performance, and availability of these systems, addressing high-priority issues, and performing routine administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 support for P1 and P2 issues within our OpenShift and OpenStack environments, including weekends.
• Administer and maintain Red Hat OpenStack Services on OpenShift (RHOSO) and other OpenShift components.
• Perform operational tasks related to Kubernetes, including managing containerized applications with Docker.
• Work with infrastructure-as-code tools, particularly Terraform, for system configuration and management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance and network issues.
• Configure and manage firewall and web server tools on Linux.
• Implement and maintain solutions such as Loki Stack for logging and HashiCorp Vault for secrets management.
• Support various integrations, including storage (Cinder), backup (OADP), and security tools.
  
  

Qualifications

• A bachelors degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 10 years of overall IT experience, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a Unix/Linux administration background.
• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with OpenShift and OpenStack.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes administration.
• Expert-level knowledge of cluster solutions.
  
  

Certifications

• Required: Certification in RHEL, SuSE, or OEL.
• Preferred: Certifications in OpenShift, OpenStack, or other cluster solutions.
  
  

Nice to Have

• Experience with Ubuntu.
• Experience with onsite datacenter environments.
• Knowledge of storage, SAN, and backup technologies.
• Familiarity with ITIL methodologies.
• Knowledge of hardware from entry-level to high-end servers.
