Mechanical Drafter (225-625)

As a Mechanical Drafter, you will play a crucial role in transforming designs and concepts into precise technical drawings and plans. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles. You will work closely with engineers and architects to create detailed schematics for manufacturing and construction projects. Utilizing CAD software and other tools, you'll ensure that all blueprints meet industry standards and client specifications. A successful Mechanical Drafter will not only devise technical drawings but also comprehend the applications of these designs in real-world settings, making sure that structures and machines are built accurately and efficiently according to the blueprint.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment and components.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Use CAD software to produce and revise engineering designs and operational plans.
• Prepare 2D and 3D mechanical layouts for machinery parts and assemblies.
• Ensure that all draft designs comply with relevant city, state, and federal codes.
• Analyze sketches, notes, and specifications to draw mechanical schematics.
• Review and verify designs against client requirements and project specifications.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to resolve design and work-related issues promptly.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of drafting methods and tools to ensure high-quality output.
• Assist in the development of project documentation and detailed reports for management.
• Support construction and manufacturing by providing technical insights from drawings.
• Attend meetings with clients to discuss project requirements and adjust drafts as needed.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Mechanical Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and precise drawings.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with engineers, architects, and clients.
• Ability to interpret and apply industry standards and regulations to drafts.
• Proven experience in a similar drafting role, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
