Job Description

The Team Lead- Fleet Management in the manufacturing sector is a senior leadership role responsible for strategically overseeing the company’s vehicle fleet that supports manufacturing operations, including raw material transport, finished goods delivery, and internal logistics. This role focuses on optimizing fleet efficiency, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and supporting production continuity through effective fleet management.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and execute fleet management strategies aligned with manufacturing operational goals to support supply chain efficiency.
  • Oversee the procurement, maintenance, and disposal of vehicles used in raw material handling, finished product distribution, and plant operations.
  • Collaborate with production, supply chain, and safety departments to ensure fleet operations support manufacturing schedules and quality standards.
  • Manage budget planning, cost control, and lifecycle management for the fleet, emphasizing cost-efficiency and minimizing downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with industry-specific safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
  • Lead initiatives on fleet sustainability, such as adopting fuel-efficient vehicles and reducing emissions in line with corporate environmental goals.
  • Analyse fleet performance metrics to identify opportunities for operational improvements and risk mitigation.
  • Oversee vendor management, negotiate service contracts, and monitor the quality of maintenance and repair services.
  • Mentor and develop fleet management teams, promoting a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare detailed reports for senior management on fleet status, costs, compliance, and performance.

Experience: 8-10 years extensive experience in Logistics or Supply Chain Management, with at least 3-5 years in Leadership or Senior-level role.

Knowledge/Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of fleet operations, vehicle maintenance, safety regulations, and sustainability practices.
  • Proficiency in Fleet management system.
  • Extensive experience in fleet management, including leadership roles.
