Job Description

The role of an Inspector – Water is crucial in maintaining water quality standards and ensuring the infrastructure supporting water supply systems is safe, efficient, and complies with regulatory standards. As an integral part of a water management team, the Inspector is responsible for conducting detailed inspections of water facilities, pipelines, and related infrastructure. This position involves analyzing water samples, preparing reports, and collaborating with engineering and maintenance teams to address identified issues. The Inspector will also liaise with regulatory bodies and other stakeholders to ensure that all activities meet legal and environmental requirements. This is a dynamic role that demands a keen eye for detail, technical prowess, and a commitment to upholding public health standards through effective water system management.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of water treatment plants to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Collect and analyze water samples to assess compliance with quality standards.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Identify and report issues in water supply systems to initiate corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop solutions for infrastructure maintenance and improvements.
  • Ensure all water system operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure the company's adherence to legal standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards in water supply systems.
  • Provide training and support to junior staff and water facility personnel as needed.
  • Implement environmental management practices to minimize ecological impact.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry developments and regulatory changes.
  • Assist in emergency response initiatives to address critical water infrastructure issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in water quality inspection or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of water treatment processes and compliance regulations.
  • Excellent analytical skills for evaluating water sample results and reports.
  • Proficient in using inspection tools and laboratory equipment for water testing.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
