Job Description

The Food & Beverage Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of a restaurant or hotel dining services. This position involves overseeing day-to-day food and beverage operations, managing staff, and ensuring guest satisfaction through high-quality service. A successful Food & Beverage Supervisor is expected to maintain excellent standards for food presentation and hygiene, while also managing budgets and inventory efficiently. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Culinary knowledge, leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service are essential.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the food and beverage services effectively and efficiently.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to food and beverage staff to ensure high performance.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of department strategies and goals.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations across all units.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns to foster exceptional guest experiences.
  • Monitor food and drinks quality standards through consistent staff evaluations.
  • Manage inventory levels responsibly to reduce waste and control costs.
  • Train new staff members in food and beverage service standards and protocols.
  • Coordinate with chefs and kitchen staff for smooth food production operations.
  • Handle cash transactions and prepare accurate financial reporting as needed.
  • Organize and oversee special events, functions, and promotional activities.
  • Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained in proper working order.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within the food and beverage industry.
  • Strong expertise in restaurant management software and daily sales reporting.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to manage diverse staff effectively.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a genuine passion for hospitality.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards and regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage conflicts diplomatically.
