Job Description

As a Fire Alarm and Fire Fighting Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of various buildings and facilities. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm and fire-fighting systems, which are essential for detecting and responding to fire incidents. Your work will involve the application of fire codes and regulations to ensure compliance and operational efficiency. You will interact with clients to provide technical support and emergency assistance, preparing detailed reports on the status and functionality of systems. This role is crucial as it requires precision, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and regulations. Responsibilities

  • Install and configure fire alarm systems according to manufacturer specifications and local codes.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fire alarm and firefighting systems.
  • Inspect and test all fire safety equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  • Provide timely response to emergency calls and troubleshoot system malfunctions.
  • Document all maintenance activities and system updates in detailed service reports.
  • Coordinate with building managers to ensure systems are in compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct fire drills and training sessions to familiarize occupants with emergency procedures.
  • Stay updated on the latest fire safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with other safety professionals to enhance building protection programs.
  • Provide professional recommendations for system upgrades and improvements.
  • Handle sensitive safety data and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Verify certifications and perform periodic audits of installed safety systems.

Requirements

  • A minimum of an associate degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Certification in fire alarm and firefighting system installation and maintenance.
  • Proven experience working with fire alarm and firefighting equipment.
  • Strong understanding of local fire safety codes and building regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach to tasks.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergency situations effectively.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to train and instruct others.
