Job Description

A Financial Controller plays a pivotal role in the financial health and strategic planning of an organization. This position demands a sharp analytical mind, excellent leadership skills, and comprehensive knowledge of financial processes and accounting standards. As the key figure in managing the company’s financial compliance and reporting, the Financial Controller ensures that financial targets are met and informs decision-making at the executive level by preparing accurate financial analyses and reports. The role also involves overseeing the finance department, managing the budgeting process, and conducting risk management to protect the company's finances. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements and reports.
  • Manage all aspects of the company’s financial accounting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial requirements.
  • Supervise and evaluate performance of accounting personnel and team management.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
  • Cultivate relationships with external auditors and oversee annual audit activities.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas of improvement.
  • Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for finance activities.
  • Conduct risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities and investments.
  • Advise upper management on financial plans and their business implications.
  • Ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance of financial transactions and reporting.
  • Provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience as a financial controller or similar managerial role.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and risk management practices.
  • Excellent proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong leadership, management, and team-building skills are essential.
  • Exemplary analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting data and reports to stakeholders.
