Job Description

  • Member of the senior leadership team, providing leadership for the cross-functional management of information technology across the business.
  • The position focuses on ensuring that Technologies "does the right things" through ownership of IT strategy and governance, as well as "does things right" through the execution of organisational and operational model development and performance management.

Job Overview:

IT Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and implement an IT strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior management to identify technology needs and opportunities for innovation.
  • Provide strategic guidance on technology investments and initiatives.
  • Develop and monitor implementation of Information Technology policies, procedures and processes.
  • Review progress of the Information Technology against KPIs and objectives on a regular basis. Recommend improvements and efficiencies in line with the business priorities.
  • Develop and monitor the annual budget of Information Technology in collaboration with Finance.

IT Infrastructure Management

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and telecommunications systems.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends, evaluating their potential impact and relevance to the organization.
  • Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of technology solutions across the business that are capable of being integrated with existing IT infrastructure.
  • Oversee the effective storage, security, and confidentiality of data.

IT Operations and Support

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the IT department, ensuring the availability and performance of IT systems and services.
  • Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Oversee the effective and efficient implementation of IT Projects across the business with proper change management.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Set clear goals and objectives for the IT team, evaluating performance and providing feedback.
  • Identify and address skill gaps, promoting professional development opportunities for team members.

Vendor Management:

  • Oversee relationships with external technology vendors and service providers, ensuring effective partnerships and adherence to service level agreements.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance to ensure optimal value and service delivery.
  • Provide technical advice to Procurement and Contracts during the development and execution of IT-related contracts.

Budgeting and Resource Allocation:

  • Develop and manage the IT department budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and cost control.
  • Monitor and report on IT expenditures, providing recommendations for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.

Required:

  • Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role, overseeing complex IT environments and driving technology strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and software, including network architecture, security protocols, cloud computing, and data management.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of implementing innovative solutions.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to align IT initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Project management experience and familiarity with Agile or other project management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to the organization's industry
